Outline

The Women in Science Scholarship aims to encourage exceptional female students to undertake study in disciplines within the Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Advanced Science and Bachelor of Advanced Mathematics single degree programs.

The Women in Science Scholarship UGCA1599 cannot be held in conjunction with the Scientia Scholarship UGCA1137, Science Achiever Award UGCA1358 or the Faculty of Science Scholarship UGCA1106.



Application Process

You do not need to submit a Scholarship application to be considered for this Scholarship. However, applicants must submit a UAC Undergraduate Admission application and have received an offer of admission to an eligible program in December Round 2.

Eligible candidates will be identified through their UAC application.

Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must:
  • Have completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB either:
    • In the year prior to commencing study at UNSW
    • In the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period
  • Have achieved a minimum ATAR of 98.5
  • Be commencing first year full-time study in one of the below eligible programs*:
    • Bachelor of Science - 3970
    • Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) - 3962
    • Bachelor of Advanced Mathematics (Honours) - 3956
    *Dual degrees are not permitted
  • Be female
Selection
Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:
  • Academic Merit
  • It is expected applicants will have received a minimum ATAR of 98.5 (excluding bonus points).
