Merit Scholarships

Merit scholarship applications for commencing undergraduate students are now OPEN

UNSW offers a variety of scholarships that are awarded based on academic merit and your application of admission to UNSW. These include:

Merit scholarship offers will be made progressively from ATAR release on Wednesday, 18 December 2024 through January/February. Log in to your Scholarships Profile to view the status of your scholarship application!


Equity Scholarships

Equity scholarships assist students who may experience financial or other educational disadvantage with the costs of tertiary study and help them reach their academic potential.

Year 12 student from an identified low-SES background UAC will automatically generate an application for the Educational Access Scheme (EAS) as part of your UAC application.

You only need to submit an additional Educational Access Scheme (EAS) or Equity scholarship (ES) if you want us to know about any additional hardships that have affected your studies.

Entering UNSW via the Gateway Admission Pathway

You will automatically be considered for Equity Scholarships based on your UNSW Gateway Admission Pathway application.

You only need to submit an Educational Access Scheme (EAS) or Equity scholarship (ES) if you want us to know about any additional hardships that have affected your studies.

Entering UNSW via the Indigenous Admission Pathway You will automatically be considered for Equity Scholarships based on your UNSW Indigenous Admission Pathway application.
You only need to submit an Educational Access Scheme (EAS) or Equity scholarship (ES) application if you want us to know about any additional hardships that have affected your studies.
Applying for the Educational Access Scheme (EAS) or Equity Scholarships via UAC You will need to submit either an Educational Access Scheme (EAS) or Equity Scholarship (ES) application to be considered for an Equity scholarship. Further details are below.

FAQs

What is my login ID?

Your login ID is usually your 9 digit UAC ID. If you have received a scholarship offer, please refer to the instructions included in your offer email to help you log into your account.

How can I check the status of my application?

Log in to your Scholarships Profile and click Submitted Application summary to view your scholarship status under Submitted Applications.

Can I hold multiple scholarship offers concurrently?

If you have received multiple scholarships you will need to email UNSW Scholarships to ask which scholarships, if any, can be held concurrently.

Can I defer my scholarship?

Most scholarships cannot be deferred. Please refer to your scholarship offer letter for further information and contact UNSW Scholarships if you are unsure.

When will I start receiving scholarship payments?

Please refer to your scholarship offer letter foy scholarship payment details.

I received an offer through the Gateway Admission Pathway, will I receive a scholarship offer?

UNSW is offering eligible Gateway Admission Pathway students a $1,000 payment once they have accepted and enrolled in an eligible UNSW program. Information about this payment will be sent to eligible students in February. If you are eligible for any other scholarships, you will receive further information by email from UNSW Scholarships.
