Outline
UNSW offers a wide range of Equity Scholarships to support commencing and current coursework students experiencing educational or financial disadvantage. These scholarships are designed to help students overcome barriers to study and achieve their academic potential.
Being eligible doesn't guarantee a scholarship
Meeting the scholarship eligibility criteria does not guarantee that you will be awarded a scholarship. The number of eligible applicants often exceeds the number of scholarships available. Scholarships are awarded through a competitive assessment process. Applicants are ranked against the eligibility criteria, and scholarships are offered to those who best meet the selection requirements.
If your application is unsuccessful, it does not mean that your circumstances or needs are not recognised. It means that other applicants have been assessed as having a higher level of need or stronger alignment with the scholarship criteria.
For a full list of educational disadvantages considered under the equity criteria, and details of the supporting documentation required, please refer to the UAC website .
