Outline

The purpose of the Award is to provide international undergraduate and postgraduate students with short-term research experience opportunities. The goal is to foster international collaboration and attract high-calibre students for potential future higher degree research.

Please note there are additonal expenses:
  • Other program application fees may apply
  • Tuition Fee: $1,000 (fee waived)
  • Overseas healthcover
  • Student visa costs
  • Travel expenses

Please refer to the following list of projects. Please nominate a maximum of 3 in your application.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:
  • International students who hold Indian Citizenship.
  • Be commencing the India Summer Practicum Program
  • Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, or IISc, with potential extension to other universities on a case-by-case basis.

Selection

Each applicant will be assessed on their ability to demonstrate:
  • Academic Merit; include your academic transcripts
  • Submission of your CV
  • Aptitude and commitment to studies in a relevant area of research

Applicants will be required to submit their CV and academic transcript to be considered for the Award.

Unanswered application questions or claims without supporting documentation will not be assessed. Late applications/supporting documentation will not be accepted.

Applications close 11:59PM AEDT, 13 March 2026. Please keep in mind that technical support is only available during business hours (until 5pm on Friday). The Scholarships Office encourages applicants to submit their applications in advance of the closing time where possible.


UNSW reserves the right not to award a scholarship, where there is no applicant of sufficient merit, or if the applicant does not meet the scholarship eligibility and/or selection criteria.
