Outline

The purpose of this application is for applicants to be potentially considered for multiple Science Faculty honours scholarships, depending on individual scholarship criteria. Applicants must be commencing their honours studies in the Faculty of Science in Term 1, 2026.

    $10,000 for 1 year

  • Be proposing or currently undertaking a full-time Honours program in the Faculty of Science

  • Academic Merit
  • Aptitude and commitment to studies in area of study

UGCA1592 J Holden Family Foundation Honours Award in Maths and Physics

    $8,000 for 1 year

  • Be proposing to undertake a full-time Honours year in the Faculty of Science, undertaking honours in the School of Mathematics and Statistics or the School of Physics
  • Be an Australian Citizen, New Zealander Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident

  • Academic merit
  • Extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activities, volunteer/work experience)
  • Leadership skills (school, workplace or community)
  • Aptitude and commitment to studies in Mathematics or Physics
UGCA1614 Dermott O'Neill Endowed Honours Award in Chemistry
    $10,000 for 1 year

  • Must be commencing full-time Honours study in Chemistry

    $5,000 for 1 year

    $5,000 for 1 year

  • Be commencing full-time Honours year program in the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences

UGCA1079 Sonja Huddle Award

    $5,000 for 1 year

  • Be an Australian Citizen, New Zealander Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
  • To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be enroled in one of the following programs, with a project specialising in earth science and the environment:
    • Bachelor of Environmental Science
    • Bachelor of Advanced Science
    • Bachelor of Science
  • Academic merit

  • Extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activities, volunteer/work experience)
  • Aptitude and commitment to studies in an area of Environmental Science/Earth sciences and environment

UGCA1341 Surface Coatings Association Australia Award

    $5,000 for 1 year

  • Be commencing full-time Honours study with the School of Chemistry in an area closely associated with coatings technology, for example, polymers, pigments, corrosion or adhesion problems, or rheology. They can also be working on materials that can be used coatings or as surface layers, for example metal-organic frameworks, organic molecules, metal oxides and other inorganic compounds.

    $5,000 for 1 year

UGCA1030 John MacIntyre Honours Year In School Marine Science

    $5,000 for 1 year

  • Be commencing full-time Honours year in the Bachelor of Science program with a project specialising in Marine Science.

UGCA1438 Jim Douglas Award in Statistics

    $5,000 for 1 year

  • Be an Australian Citizen, New Zealander Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
  • Be commencing full-time Honours study in the Faculty of Science studying statistics.

UGCE1499 Faculty of Science Indigenous Honours Award

    $5,000 for 1 year

  • Be an Indigenous Australian* (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander only)
  • Be commencing full-time Honours year in the Faculty of Science at UNSW
  • * UNSW Scholarships work in partnership with the Office of the PVC Indigenous and Nura Gili, Centre for Indigenous Programs. While Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity is unique and sacred to every person, UNSW scholarships for Indigenous students will require proof of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity and heritage.
