Origin Energy Foundation Grant King Indigenous Scholarships

The purpose of the scholarship is to support Indigenous students commencing an undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Science or Faculty of Engineering at UNSW with residential fees.
One scholarship will be offered for residence at Shalom College and one will be offered for residence to any UNSW residential accommodation.
Each Scholarship will have a value of up to $25,000 per annum and will be payable for the minimum duration of a single or double degree program. This will be paid as Residential Fees directly to the eligible residential provider. In addition, each recipient will receive a UNSW President and Vice-Chancellors Equity Scholarship (UGCE1319) valued at $5,000 per annum stipend for the duration of a single or double degree program.
To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Received an offer of admission to commence a UNSW undergraduate Engineering or Science degree through the UNSW Indigenous Admissions Scheme , UAC or other UNSW Admission pathway programs.
- Have been offered a place at Shalom College or other UNSW Student Accommodation
- Demonstrated low-socioeconomic* and/or educational disadvantage
*Based on residential address at the time of application. Low-socioeconomic areas are based on IRSAD and IEO indexes of SEIFA criteria.
Applicants will be considered based on their UAC Equity Scholarship or Educational Access Scheme application, or another appropriate UNSW admissions pathway program.
UNSW will be participating in the following UAC Equity Scholarship Offer Rounds for students commencing study at UNSW in Term 1, 2024:
- December Round 2: Apply by 11:59 pm Friday, 8 December 2023
- January Round 1: Apply by 11:59 pm Friday, 29 December 2023.
