Outline

The UNSW Computing Informatics Scholarship & Award have been established to encourage recent high school leavers who have participated in the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) Competition to commence an undergraduate degree program in the School of Computer Science and Engineering.

Scholarship Value and Duration Program Eligibility and Selection Criteria
UNSW Computing Informatics Scholarship (UGCA1585)

Each scholarship is tenable for the normal minimum duration of an eligible program and will have a value corresponding to the IOI Competition Medal categories, as follows:

  • Gold - $7,000 pa
  • Silver - $6,000 pa
  • Bronze - $5,000 pa

  • Be a recipient of an IOI Competition Medal
  • Be commencing full-time study in an undergraduate degree program (single or double) in the UNSW School of Computer Science and Engineering
  • UNSW Computing Informatics Award (UGCA1617)

    $5,000 for one year only

  • Have competed in the IOI competition and not received a medal
  • Be commencing full-time study in an undergraduate degree program (single or double) in the UNSW School of Computer Science and Engineering

  • Women in Computer Science Award (WICS) (UGCA1642)

    $5,000 for one year only

    • Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident (including Humanitarian Visa Holders) or New Zealand Citizen
    • Be a woman, non-binary or gender-diverse student
    • Be commencing full-time study in an undergraduate degree program (single or double) in one of the following programs:
      • Bachelor of Computer Science
      • Bachelor of Bioinformatics Engineering
      • Bachelor of Software Engineering
      • Bachelor of Computer Engineering

    Selection Criteria

    Candidates are not required to submit a separate scholarship application. Eligible candidates will be identified by the School of Computer Science and Engineering and UNSW Scholarships.
