Outline

The UNSW Women in Engineering Scholarships Program aims to encourage and assist female students commencing studies in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW.

By applying for the UNSW Women in Engineering Scholarships Program you may be considered for the following scholarships. More scholarships may be added to this list progressively.

Scholarship Value and Duration Program Eligibility
Faculty of Engineering Women in Engineering Scholarships (UGCE1394)

$10,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program (up to 6 years) - Multiple Offers Available

Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or double degree) in any Faculty of Engineering degree program.
Women in Engineering Excellence Scholarship (UGCE1408)

$10,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program (up to 5 years) - Multiple Offers Available

Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single degree) in any Faculty of Engineering degree program.
Alexandria Ada Lam Scholarship (UGCE1068)

$10,000 per annum for up to 4 years with a possible $5,000 top-up for the first year of college fees


Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or double degree) in any Faculty of Engineering degree program.
BGIS Women in Engineering Scholarship (UGCE1409)

$10,000 per annum for up to 5 years


Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or double degree) in the following Faculty of Engineering degree program
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Civil)

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria in addition to the program requirements listed above:
  • Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident (including Humanitarian Visa Holders) or New Zealand Citizen; and
  • Have completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB in the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period; and
  • Be female

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:
  • Academic Merit
  • Leadership skills (school, workplace or community)
  • Extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activities, volunteer/work experience)
  • Aptitude and commitment to studies in an area of Engineering

You must provide evidence supporting the above criteria in your online application. Please refer to the Scholarship Application Supporting Documents for a detailed list of examples.

Unanswered application questions or claims without supporting documentation will not be assessed. Late applications/supporting documentation will not be accepted.

Interviews

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview once the 2021 HSC exams have concluded. Interviews will be held on 10 December 2021.


Faculty of Engineering Elite Interstate Women Scholarship (UGCE1244)

No application required

You do not need to submit an application to be considered for the below scholarship.

Value and Duration

$12,000 per annum for the minimum duration of your program

Eligibility

  • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Be a female student; and
  • Have completed the HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB in Australia (excluding NSW) in the year prior to commencing at UNSW; and
  • Be commencing full-time undergraduate study in a Faculty of Engineering program (single or dual, excluding with Law) in Term 1, 2021.

Selection

Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:
