Scholarship Details Summary
The SQA Undergraduate Research Scholarships provide enthusiastic undergraduate students with an invaluable opportunity to gain research experience in quantum technology. Candidates undertake an exciting 6-week project from one of SQA?s four partner universities, supervised by a leading quantum researcher.
The aim of the program is to provide opportunities to students who are part way through their undergraduate degree, enabling them to develop their research skills and inspiring them to consider further quantum technology research or related activities in the future.
The selection process will be conducted in a way that encourages gender diversity in quantum technology. We strongly encourage women and gender diverse students to apply.
Details of the Scholarship
- Projects are offered by supervisors working at the four SQA partner universities.
- The scholarship is valued at AU$3,333 for a 6-week research project.
- The project period is 6 weeks from January to February 2027.
- Students must participate on a full-time basis (35 hours per week).
- Applicants are assessed on academic merit, personal statement and project suitability.
Who is Eligible?
- Applicants may identify as woman, man or outside the gender binary.
- Some scholarship places will be prioritised for students who identify as woman.
- Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at an SQA partner university or be a domestic undergraduate student attending a university in NSW.
- International students are eligible if enrolled at an SQA partner university.
- Applicants must have completed the equivalent of 1.5 years of full-time study.
- Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible.
- Successful candidates cannot hold another similar research scholarship during the project period.
