The Women in Engineering Scholarships aim to encourage and assist female students commencing studies in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW.
Application Process
By applying for the Women in Engineering Scholarships you may be considered for the following scholarships. More scholarships will be added to this list progressively.
Tidswell Family Women in Engineering Scholarship (UGCE1286)
- Value: $10,000 per annum
- Duration: Up to 4 years
- Program Requirement: Commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or dual degree) in one of the following degree programs:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) - Photovoltaics and Solar Energy
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) - Environmental
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) - Renewable Energy
Alexandria Ada Lam Scholarship in Engineering (UGCE1068)
- Value: $10,000 per annum + $5,000 top-up for the first year of the scholarship to put towards college fees, should they wish to attend a UNSW college
- Duration: Up to 4 years
- Program Requirement: Commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or dual degree) in any UNSW Faculty of Engineering degree program.
Klabe Family Women in Engineering Scholarship (UGCE1337)
- Value: $10,000 per annum
- Duration: Up to 5 years
- Program Requirement: Commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or dual degree) in any UNSW Faculty of Engineering degree program.
Charles Warman Women in Engineering Scholarship (UGCE1333)
- Value: $10,000 per annum
- Duration: Up to 5 years
- Program Requirement: Commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or dual degree) in one of the following degree programs:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) - Mining
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) - Petroleum
TransGrid Women in Engineering Scholarship (UGCE1357)
- Value: $10,000 per annum
- Duration: Up to 4 years
- Program Requirement: Commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or dual degree) in the following degree program:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) - Electrical
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:- Female
- Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
- Completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB, either:
- in the year prior to commencing study at UNSW, or
- in the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period.
- Commencing full-time undergraduate study in an eligible UNSW Engineering program
Selection
Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:
- Academic Merit
- Demonstrated or potential leadership skills
- Extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activites, volunteer/work experiences)
- Aptitude and commitment to studies in an area of Engineering
Interviews
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview.
