Outline
The Women in Mathematics and Statistics Scholarship aims to encourage and assist female students to undertake study at UNSW with a major or study plan in Mathematics.
Application Process

Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must
- Be female; and
- Have completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB, either:
- in the year prior to commencing study at UNSW, or
- in the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period.
- Have achieved at least 185 in their Mathematics Extension 1 and 2.
- Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or dual degree) in Bachelor of Science program, with a Major in Mathematics at UNSW. In the Advanced Maths programs this can be a Major in Pure Maths, Applied Maths, Statistics and Quantitative Risk
Selection
Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:
- Academic merit; in particular Mathematics (Extension 1 and 2) results.
- Consideration will also be given to potential to contribute to and participate in the life of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, particularly through involvement in the "Women in Mathematics and Statistics" programme. Other areas of contribution may include involvement in such activities as the Student Mathematical Society (MathSoc) or mentoring other students.
Interviews
Interviews are not required for this Scholarship.
