The Al-Willis Scholarship in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering aims to assist students with academic ability experiencing socio/economic circumstances in undertaking an undergraduate program offered by the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering.



How to Apply

To be considered for this Scholarship, applicants must apply for and submit a UAC Educational Access Scheme application by Thursday 30 November 2017.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident; and
  • Have completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB, either:
    • in the year prior to commencing study at UNSW, or
    • in the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period.
  • Be commencing full-time study in an undergraduate program (single or dual*) offered by the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering

* Applicants enrolling in one of the dual degrees offered by the School are also eligible to apply but the tenure of the scholarship will remain at four years.

Selection
Applicants will be assessed on:
  • Demonstrating financial hardship
  • In addition one or more of the following disadvantages may be considered:
    • Disrupted schooling
    • Refugee Status
    • Personal Illness / Disability
    • School Environment
    • Home environment and responsibilities
  • Academic Merit may also be considered
Interviews
Interviews are not required for this scholarship.
