Outline

The Elite Athlete Scholarships for High School Leavers supports future UNSW students with an outstanding ability in sport. Scholarships are valued between $5,000-$10,000. By applying for the Elite Athlete Scholarships for High School Leavers you will also be considered for all sporting scholarships at UNSW.

By applying for the Elite Athlete Sport Scholarship (For future UNSW students) UGCE1431, you may also be considered for the following scholarships (Please refer to the individual advertisements for complete details):

  • Ben Lexcen Sports Scholarship UGCE2043
    $10,000 for 1 year

  • Elite Athlete Award UGCE1195
    $5000 for 1 year

  • UNSW Cricket Club UGCE1152
    $5000 for 1 year

  • Sam Cracknell Memorial Sports Scholarship UGCE1013
    $5000 for 1 year

  • Mark Dorrity Athletics Award UGCE1196
    $5000 for 1 year

  • Bill Jameson Football Award UGCE1121
    $5000 for 1 year
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must:
  • Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or dual degree)
  • Be deemed to be at an elite level such as representing at State or National Level or similar
Selection

Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:

  • Outstanding sporting achievement
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and qualities
  • Ability to contribute to university life
  • Reference from coach, school or club representative supporting your application
  • Expected involvement in nominated UNSW sports club and participation in Australian University Games

Interviews
Shortlisted applicants may be invited for an interview.

The Elite Athletes, Performers and Leaders (EAPL) Program supports students with a flexible entry process that considers both academic and elite achievements and recognises these by awarding adjustment factors (more commonly known as bonus points).
