Outline
The Scholarship has been established to assist students from low socioeconomic backgrounds who are experiencing financial hardship or other form of educational disadvantage to undertake full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework study at UNSW.

How to Apply

Applications for 2018-2019 Equity Scholarships/Educational Access Scheme will open via UAC on Wednesday, 1 August 2018.

Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
  • Be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
  • Must receive an offer of admission to UNSW
  • Be commencing full-time study in a UNSW undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree program; and
  • Must demonstrate at least one disadvantage through an Equity Scholarships (ES) or Educational Access Scheme (EAS) application to the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC)

Applicants who have gained admission via other approved UNSW pathways (e.g. UNSW Gateway, UNSW Indigenous Admission Scheme/ Preparatory Programs) are also eligible.

Selection
Applicants who have submitted a UAC Equity Scholarship or UAC Educational Access Scheme application will be assessed on their ability to demonstrate criteria such as:
  • Financial Hardship
  • Carer Responsibilities
  • Sole Parent Responsibilities
  • Indigenous Australian
  • Long-term medical condition/ disability or ongoing effects of abuse
  • Home Environment and Responsibilities
  • Regional or remote disadvantage
  • Refugee
  • Disrupted Schooling
  • School Environment
Interviews
Shortlisted applicants are not required to attend an interview.
