Outline
The UNSW Law US Alumni Chapter Scholarship aims to assist a student from a socio-economically disadvantaged background to study at the UNSW Law School.
Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Have completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB either:
    • in the year prior to commencing study at UNSW, or
    • in the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period

  • Have submitted a UAC Equity Scholarship application and demonstrated at least one educational disadvantage

  • Be commencing any undergraduate UNSW Law dual degree program

Selection

Candidates will be considered on the basis of their Equity Scholarship application to UAC (University Admissions Centre).

Each applicant must be experiencing low socio economic circumstances and will be assessed on their eligibility to demonstrate one or more of the following criteria:

  • Financial hardship
  • Carer responsibilities
  • English language difficulty
  • Sole parent responsibilities
  • Indigenous Australian
  • Long term medical condition/disability or ongoing affects of abuse
  • Refugee status
  • Regional or remote disadvantages

Consideration will be also be given to academic merit.

The award of the Scholarship may not be deferred.

Applicants must submit a UAC Undergraduate Equity Scholarship application by Wednesday 13 December 2017
