The Mathematics & Statistics Entry Awards & Scholarships aim to encourage students to undertake undergraduate study in the School of Mathematics & Statistics.

- Michael Dorrell Scholarship in Mathematics (UGCE1200)
- $12,000 pa
- Minimum duration of program
- The Alma Douglas Scholarship (UGCA1205)
- $6,000 pa
- Minimum duration of program
- Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents only
- Mathematics or Statistics major only
- School of Mathematics & Statistics Beautiful Mind Scholarship (UGCA1392)

Eligibility
To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must:
- Have completed the Higher School Certificate (or equivalent qualification) in the year prior to commencing study at UNSW, or two (2) years prior to commencing study provided no tertiary study was undertaken in this period.
- Be undertaking full-time undergraduate study in a Bachelor of Advanced Science or Bachelor of Science (Advanced Mathematics) including dual-award degrees with a major in the School of Mathematics & Statistics
- Michael Dorrell Scholarship in Mathematics only
Be undertaking full-time undergraduate study in a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Advanced Science (Hons), Bachelor of Advanced Mathematics (Hons), Bachelor of Science (International) with a major in the School of Mathematics & Statistics
Selection
Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:
- Academic Merit
- Aptitude and commitment to studies in an area of Mathematics
- School of Mathematics & Statistics Beautiful Mind Scholarship only
Must have competed in the Mathematical Olympiad or UNSW Annual School Mathematics Competition, or similar, in Yr 11 or Yr 12 and provide their results
Other scholarships
You do not need to submit a Scholarship application to be considered for the below scholarships. Selection will be based on academic merit and the below eligibility criteria:
- School of Mathematics & Statistics, Teachers Scholarship
- $ 5,000 pa
- Minimum duration of program
Eligibility:- Must have completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB either:
- in the year prior to commencing study at UNSW, OR
- in the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period; and
- Must be undertaking a Science/Education degree with a declared major in Mathematics.

- School of Mathematics & Statistics, Data Science & Decisions Scholarship
- $ 5,000 pa
- Minimum duration of program
Eligibility:- Have completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB either:
- in the year prior to commencing study at UNSW, OR
- in the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period; and
- Be commencing full-time undergraduate study in a Bachelor of Data Science & Decisions - Quantitative Data Science plan (MATHE13959)
