The Women In Engineering Scholarships aims to assist female secondary school students to study at the UNSW Faculty of Engineering.

By applying for the Women In Engineering Scholarships you may be considered for the following scholarships:

  • Tidswell Family Women In Engineering Scholarship (UGCE1286)
    • Value: $10,000
    • Duration: Up to 4 years
    • Program Requirement: Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or dual degree) one of the following degree programs:
      • Bachelor of Photovoltaics and Solar Energy Engineering (Honours) offered by the UNSW School of Photovoltaics and Renewable Energy Engineering
      • Bachelor of Environmental Engineering (Honours) offered by the UNSW School of Civil and Environmental Engineering
      • Bachelor of Renewable Energy Engineering (Honours) offered by the UNSW School of Photovoltaics and Renewable Energy Engineering

  • Alexandria Ada Lam Scholarship in Engineering (UGCE1068)
    • Value: $10,000 + $5,000 top-up for the first year of the scholarship to put towards college fees, should they wish to attend a UNSW college
    • Duration: Up to 4 years
    • Program Requirement: Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or dual degree) in any UNSW Faculty of Engineering degree program.
  • Women in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering David Beale Scholarship (UGCA1430)
    • Value: $7,000
    • Duration: Up to 4 years
    • Program Requirement: Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or dual degree)in one of the following:
      • Mechatronic
      • Aerospace
      • Mechanical & Manufacturing
      • Mechanical

  • John Lions Women in Engineering Scholarship(UGCE1254)
    • Value: $10,000
    • Duration: Up to 4 years
    • Program Requirement: Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or dual degree) in one of the following programs:
      • BE Honours Computer Engineering
      • BE Honours Bioinformatics Engineering
      • BE Honours Software Engineering
      • BSc Computer Science.

  • Boral Women in Engineering Scholarship(UGCE1266)
    • Value: $10,000
    • Duration: Up to 4 years
    • Program Requirement: Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or dual degree) in one of the following programs:
      • BE Civil Engineering
      • BE Mining Engineering

  • Carnival Women in Engineering Scholarship(UGCA1596)
    • Value: $10,000
    • Duration: Up to 4 years
    • Program Requirement: Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or dual degree) in one of the following schools:
      • School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications
      • School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering

    Eligibility
    To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must:
    • Be Female
    • Be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
    • Have completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB, either:
      • in the year prior to commencing study at UNSW, or
      • in the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period.
    • Be commencing full-time undergraduate study in an eligible UNSW Engineering program
    Selection

    Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:

    • Academic Merit
    • Enrolment into the relevant UNSW Engineering School
    • Leadership potential
    • Extra-curricular activities
    Interviews
    Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview on 23 November.
