Outline
The purpose of the Scholarship is to encourage students from disadvantaged backgrounds to come to UNSW and study for an undergraduate degree in any faculty. The scholarship will support students who may not otherwise be financially able to come to university.
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
  • Have completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB either:
    • in the year prior to commencing study at UNSW, or
    • in the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period; and
  • Be commencing an eligible UNSW degree program; and
  • Attended a school that is recognised under UNSW ASPIRE program or similar program; and
  • Must demonstrate at least one educational disadvantage through an application to the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) Equity Scholarships.

Selection

Candidates will be considered on the basis of their UAC Equity online application.

Each applicant must be experiencing low socioeconomic circumstances and will be assessed on their eligibility to demonstrate one or more of the following criteria:

  • Financial Hardship
  • Carer Responsibilities
  • Sole Parent Responsibilities
  • Indigenous Australian
  • Long-term medical condition/disability or ongoing effects of abuse
  • Refugee status
  • Regional or remote disadvantage

Applicants must submit a UAC Undergraduate Equity Scholarship application by Wednesday, 13 December 2017.

Interviews
Interviews are not required for this Scholarship.
